Arequipa City & Country Tour

First day: Arequipa – Chivay. The team will pick us up at the accommodation at 7:20 am. We will pass by the slopes of the Chachani and Yura Volcanoes, we will enter the Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve Zone, where we will be able to appreciate the Vicuñas, famous for their fine fiber. We will continue our tour in the Bofedales de Toccra. We&#39;ll see wild birds, llamas and alpacas as we follow our route to the highest point of the tour, Pata Pampa, at 4,800m above sea level. Upon arrival in the city of Chivay, we will have lunch and settle in the Hotel. In the evening, after dinner, we can enjoy a bath in the hot springs of La Calera. Second day: Chivay – Pinchollo – Arequipa. Early in the morning, the team will pick us up from the hotel again to continue the tour to the town of Pinchollo, where the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor is located, from where we can see the deepest part of the canyon and the famous flight of the condors. Then it&#39;s back to Chivay, stopping at different traditional towns along the way to visit the colonial-era churches and squares. In addition, along the way, stops will be made at viewpoints from where we can see beautiful landscapes, hanging tombs, terraces, etc. Arriving in Chivay, we will have time to have lunch and board the bus back to Arequipa.

Trip to the Colca Canyon

We will begin the tour by picking up passengers at their respective hotels located in the center of Arequipa. Then we will head towards the Sachaca Viewpoint, from where we can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the rural landscape of Arequipa, the White City and the majestic volcanoes Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu. We will continue to the Founder&#39;s Mansion, a jewel of colonial architecture, where García Manuel de Carvajal, the founder of Arequipa, is said to have lived. There, we will appreciate the furnished rooms, the patios and the decoration that preserves the charm of the period. Next, we will visit the Sabandía Mill, a construction made of ashlar (volcanic stone) that dates back to 1785. We will have the opportunity to observe the operation of the old water-powered stone mill and admire the beauty of the surrounding natural landscape. After this visit, we will return to the city of Arequipa, ending our tour with beautiful memories of the region.

Walk through Campiña

On this tour we will start with a pick-up at our hotel and then head off for a panoramic visit to the ExTingo Spa, which was previously the Arequipa spa and is currently very popular with families who go to the mall on weekends to enjoy traditional cuisine and stroll around the artificial lagoon. Afterwards, we will see the Founder&#39;s Mansion, one of the most striking examples of 16th century civil architecture in Arequipa, carved almost entirely in stone. We will also see the Molino Sabandía, an architectural gem that for centuries supplied flour to feed mainly the inhabitants of Arequipa. According to the history of the place, workers and peasants left their footprints there, supplying it with wheat and turning its stone wheels, crushing the grain amidst the murmurs of water that happily flow around it. Finally, we will end up at the Andenes de Yumina, pre-Inca platforms that form multiple and splendid amphitheaters that beautifully frame the beautiful panorama of the city.

City tour em Arequipa

On this tour we will see the lagoons that are located behind the snow-capped peak of Pichu Pichu, 120km from Arequipa. In addition to their natural beauty, not only in the area itself, there is a great spectacle: the snow-capped peaks that are reflected in the mirror of their waters. In the reflections we will also see the presence of flamingos and pariguanas unique in their genus, it will be possible to see three species of pariguanas simultaneously (depending on the time and weather), which does not occur in the most famous &quot;Flamingo Lakes&quot; in Africa (Nakuru and Naivaska, in Kenya) where there are only two species. In this area there are numerous populations of auchenids especially llamas and alpacas. We will also visit the salt flat, where we can take wonderful photos of the mountains and the reflection of the water, which creates an incredible effect. At the end of the tour, we will return to Arequipa with a stop to enjoy the typical food of the region.

Tour of the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve 

The Sillar Route is a tour full of history, living culture and adventure. We will discover why Arequipa is also known as &quot;The White City&quot;, since when Sillar was used as a building material for houses, churches and mansions. We will learn how this stone called Ignimbrite is extracted, how the ashlars are formed and we will meet one of the stonemasons who work hard every day and carry on a tradition that is passed down from generation to generation. We will start at 8am heading to the Cerro Colorado district to see the most famous white sillar quarry. There we will see firsthand the ancient process of making and extracting sillar blocks and their carving carried out by the masons using simple tools such as a bar, a skipping rope and a chisel. Next, we will take a 20-minute walk through the enigmatic Quebrada de Culebrillas, an imposing virgin quarry on a narrow path formed by the erosion of water and wind over time. At the end of the tour, we will return to the city of Arequipa.

Sillar Route Tour

The Colca Valley is Arequipa&#39;s biggest tourist attraction, after Machu Picchu. Its rugged geography is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, as well as Andean villages with many traditions. We will start the excursion along the Yura Highway to the town of Chivay, where we will have time for breakfast. We will continue our journey towards the Condor Cross, where we will enjoy one of the deepest canyons in the world and the flight of the condor. On the way back, we will enjoy the viewpoints of Antahuilque and Choquetico, a beautiful landscape of the valley with its impressive pre-Inca terraces. We will pass through different towns (Pincollo, Maca and Yanque) that have beautiful colonial churches. We will go to the thermal baths where we will have time to relax. Afterwards, we will have lunch in Chivay and return to Arequipa. On the way back, we will stop at the Patapampa viewpoint (highest point 4,910 meters above sea level) where we can admire the volcanoes (Ampato, Sabancaya, Hualca Hualca). Continuing the tour, we will pass through the Tocra swamps where we will appreciate the diversity of wild birds, herds of alpacas, llamas and the beautiful South American camelids that have some of the finest fiber in the world. We will return to Arequipa around 5pm.

Colca Canyon Tour

The Colca Valley is Arequipa&#39;s biggest tourist attraction, after Machu Picchu. Its rugged geography is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, as well as Andean villages with many traditions. We begin our tour along the Yura Highway, enjoying majestic views of the volcanoes that surround the city and then entering Pampa Cañahuas, inhabited by South American camelids such as llamas, alpacas, vicuñas and huanacos. We will make a stop in Patahuasi, where we can observe the geological formations and drink an infusion to acclimatize to the altitude. We will then continue our journey, passing through Bofedales and Tojra Pampa (viewpoint of the Andes), the highest point of our trip. Here we will see different volcanoes such as Ampato, Sabancaya Volcano and Hualca Hualca Volcano. We will have lunch in the beautiful city of Chivay and in the afternoon we will rest at the hotel of our choice, as well as being able to visit the thermal-medicinal baths of Yanque. At the end of the day, we will have dinner at a restaurant with a folkloric show. On the second day, we will have a nutritious breakfast and head towards the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor. There we will be able to contemplate the majestic flight of the condors just a few meters away and appreciate in all its magnitude one of the deepest canyons in the world. On the way back, we will be able to observe different pre-Inca terraces and visit some small towns to see the churches from the colonial period. After lunch, we will begin the return to Arequipa.

2 Days 1 Night Colca Canyon Tour

The Colca Valley is Arequipa&#39;s biggest tourist attraction, after Machu Picchu. Its rugged geography is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, as well as Andean villages with many traditions. We begin our tour along the Yura Highway, passing through the slopes of Chachani, Pampa de Arrieros and the Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve, where we can observe the slender vicuña. We continue through Vizcachani, Pampas de Toccra, where a variety of birds can be observed, and then we will skirt the Chucura Crater to reach Patapampa (4,800 meters above sea level) and Mirador de los Andes. There we will be able to observe the volcanoes that surround the city of Arequipa. After the tour, we will descend to the town of Chivay for lunch and in the afternoon we will visit the thermal baths of La Calera. At the end of the day, we will check into the hotel of our choice within Chivay. On the second day, we will head to Cruz del Cóndor (41 km from Chivay), a place where we can observe the Canyon and, almost always, the condors in magnificent flights. Then, we will return by car, enjoying the wonderful towns of Pinchollo, Maca, Yanque and the viewpoints of Antahuilque and Choquetico. We will return to Chivay and after lunch we will depart for the city of Puno, making a detour to Patahuasi. On the way we will observe different Andean landscapes, such as stone forests, immense lagoons with a variety of birds, small villages in the area, the cities of Imata, Santa Lucia and the city of Juliaca. After a six-hour journey, we will arrive in Puno and stay at the recommended hotel.
