Zugspitze, the summit of Germany

Leaving Munich at 10:00 am, you'll start the day with a visit to the Zugspitze. This day trip takes you directly to the foothills of the Alps and its green valleys. Passing the picturesque houses of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the bus takes you up the first few meters of altitude to the valley station of the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain at 9,788 feet (2,962 meters). The new cable car will take you to the mountain's peak in just a few minutes. After enjoying the breathtaking views of the more than 400 peaks in Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland, there's still plenty of time to recharge your batteries in the restaurant (vegetarian or halal available). Special summer fun is a free bobsleigh ride or a walk on the eternal ice. The descent is aboard the historic cogwheel train.
