Jerusalem and Bethlehem - Day Trip

Explore Jerusalem from its past to the present with a panoramic view from the Mount of Olives, followed by a walking tour of the Old City, including the Western Wall, built since 70 BC, and the ancient Cardo. The tour will take you along the Via Dolorosa and the Stations of the Cross on the way to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The tour continues south of the city to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, visiting the Church of the Nativity and Manger Square.

Itinerary:

Departure from the selected hotel for a fascinating tour of the holy city of Jerusalem.

Begin with a panoramic view of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, highlighting important landmarks and a brief explanation of the city's past and present.

We'll continue with a walking tour of the Old City. We'll enter the ancient walled city through Zion Gate, one of the main gates of ancient times, and enter the Armenian Quarter.

In the Jewish Quarter, visit the ancient Byzantine Cardo, a key component of the city's planning, filled with shops and vendors that served as the center of economic life.

Stop at the Western Wall (also known as the Kotel or Wailing Wall), a section of the Temple Mount retaining wall that has remained intact since the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 B.C.E.

Walk along the Via Dolorosa and pass the Stations of the Cross on the way to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which includes Calvary and the Tombs of the Resurrection.

Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the Market before leaving the Old City through Jaffa Gate.

Head south to Bethlehem and enter Manger Square before entering the Church of the Nativity. See the Grotto, where a star indicates Jesus' birthplace; the nativity scene; and an altar dedicated to the Three Wise Men.

At the end of the day, return to the hotel where you were picked up.
