Show of the Passion of Christ in New Jerusalem

The PASSION OF CHRIST in Nova Jerusalem, with more than half a century of existence, is one of the highlights of Holy Week in Pernambuco, having attracted around 4 million spectators throughout its history, since 1968.

Staged in the largest open-air theater in the world, it is an experience that remains in your heart.
Surrounded by stone walls, the city-theatre has a busy outdoor area, with concerts, a handicraft fair, a food hall and other thematic activities.

Inside, nine audience stages reproduce the scenarios of the time.
The scene of the resurrection of Jesus Christ is undoubtedly the one that sheds the most tears.

The show lasts approximately 3 hours.

Eriberto Leão, as Pilate;
Luiza Tomé, playing Maria;
Nelson Freitas, playing Herodes;
Duda Reis in the role of Herodíades.

The cast is also formed by more than 50 actors and actresses from Pernambuco and more than 300 extras.
